Another Vehicle stuck at Land End Ford

Yet another warning issued to the drivers going towards Ford at Lands End near Charvil. The warning was issued by the fire brigade after another motorist got stuck this morning at 7:30 am. He was stuck in the ford where the old river crosses the Park Lane.

The motorist immediately called for the fire fighters but the man was told to call for his own vehicle recovery system to get his car removed from the area as there is nothing the fire fighters could do. The man was safe and out of his vehicle due to which the fire fighters refused to help and advised him to call for his own vehicle recovery system.

Nicole Targett from the Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service was amazed on how people still wish to drive though the Ford even after several warnings already issued from the Fir Rescue Team. Thus they have issued another warning after today’s incident. Even before entering the area there is a mark which shows how deep the water is. Currently the level is at 3 to 4ft which is not at all under normal driving conditions. And just next to the water mark there is a sign board warning the drivers about the severe condition. Currently there is a strong current running through the ford.

But this warning does not seem to help. She also added that in today’s incident they clearly refused to remove the vehicle was because the man was safe and he was already warned about his own mishap. She also said that they remove the vehicle only if the people inside the vehicle are not safe or if there is something on the vehicle which is of environment risk.

She sounded extremely concerned when she informed us on how the fire rescue team saved a women’s life last year while she was drowning. She says it is not about the vehicle you are risking by driving through 4ft deep water but due to the new technology you are risking your own life by trapping yourself in the vehicle.
